Consultants who walk the talk?
After many years teaching others to implement eCommerce, and advising small businesses on what they should do, we thought it was about time we got out there in the real world to see what was happening.
We've had to re-learn some old skills that no longer seemed important - negotiating with suppliers, writing code - hone some new ones - stock purchase, VAT accounting, for example - and remember those good words about planning!
Oh really ...
The directors of Clavarium Limited have had some really great ideas over the years - guess what? We've always been too busy to do anything with them. Oh we've come close but there's always been just one more thing to do.
Currently providing eCommerce education in a higher education institution, we also run Archery Trousers. Archery was just one of those things - we needed to take up a sport for exercise and archery was something that I'd always wanted to do. It's a real family sport and we all shoot. The archery kit stays out of the office, unless we go shooting after work, which we do. Archery Trousers sells trousers from Craghopper and Regatta and thermals and the famous "stripe crew" shirts from Helly Hansen.
Who are the Distance Demon and Worm Stabber?
These characters started out as jokes - a young lady of our acquaintance wanted to shoot 90m and 100 yards and was told that these were men's distances - someone called her a distance demon and we just had to invent the character.
Worm stabbing is a well-known archery pursuit, for those of us still trying to keep up with the ever changing sight marks and, of course, longbow archers. I have to be careful here - I'm increasingly seen with a longbow rather than the recurve.

Mohair socks? ...
Launched in November 2007, www.mohairsocks.co.uk is a web site selling mohair socks. Mohair socks? yes really. They have some interesting properties: like keeping toes warm and not smelly!
